I always got annoyed at that silly list of instructions/test that's supposed to teach you to read through all the questions first. You know, there's 25 questions and they take a lot of time and then the very last one says only do the first question. Well, if you only do the first question, then you can't do the last one which says to only do the first question. Circular logic irritates me. Cutesy ways to prove a point also irritate me.
There's a point to this. I like following instructions. So I really love the new lables on the meals. Last night, I had the salmon. Way out of order but the weekend was busy. It comes with a pineapple crisp which I have commented on before because the raisins are pined (is that an actual word?). Anyway, the instructions state that the crisp is best served warm. Now, I would consider myself to be a DTG old hand. Six months when Nicky was born and going on four months now this time. But I've never warmed up the pineapple crisp. If I was allowed to call myself names, I would. It tastes amazing warm! 30 seconds in the microwave and it really brings out the juicyness of the pineapple.
Oh, I'm not allowed to call myself names because of Nicky. He's at the repeat-everything-you-say stage and he also asks a lot of questions. So mellow is the word. Which is hard to do when someone won't let you merge into traffic and then makes an obscene gesture at you. Seriously? What did I do? So I had to calmly explain to Nicky why Mommy calls other people idiots sometime. I don't curse so at least I didn't have to break myself of that habit.
I'm worried about this weeks weigh in. I suspect some of last week's loss was due to the bug we all had. I haven't had time to walk this week due to getting things ready for the garage sale. Organizing the garage, while tiring, isn't aerobic activity. Mark your calendars! Kingstowne community yard sale is on the 16th. I've also been trying to set up appointments to look at houses when we head down to Fayetteville. I've been thinking. John made some comment about me having to start cooking again when we move. That made me sad. So I'm thinking I may start dropping oh-so-subtle hints and comments about the fact that DTG has a mail-order option. Hmmmmmm.

Moving is always one of the biggies on the stress meter. As far as continuing DTG in your new location, our DTG friend Bo in New Orleans appears to being quite well with it. Good Luck on the scale this week!
ReplyDelete(appears to be doing) sorry, please insert in the sentence above, there's no undo.
ReplyDeleteDonna, you're going to crack up when you hear that I've been at DTG since 1997, and eat the Salmon every 4 (now 5) weeks religiously. Honest to goodness I didn't know about the heating the pineapple crisp until I myself was making the labels. Mary Beth was proofing them and inserted that line and I was like "WHAAAAAT"? Heat the Pineapple crisp? Duh, no wonder it's in an oven/microwavable safe container, why didn't I ever realize that? Too funny! So yea, you're not alone!
ReplyDeleteDonna and Rachel,
ReplyDeleteNow you've really got me hungry for a warm, sweet treat--pineapple crisp or something similar. (Whimper, whimper, whimper.)
