Different Strokes

It's becoming interesting how different the babies are developing. They say that girls develop faster but she was almost a pound and a half lighter at birth. And that disparity is definitely showing up. Jason can sit unassisted for about 10 or 15 minutes. Catie tends to topple. Which is surprising given how bottom heavy she is. Jason is chowing down on cereal and has gone through allergy checking two foods, banana and sweet potato. Catie just can't keep her tongue from spitting it out. However, they've both gotten really good at taking toys and pacis that the other one has. Thus, it begins.

Mom is liking the food. She is really liking not having to cook it. So far, she says her favorite is the Tuscan Boats with Wheatberry salad. And our family favorite, Turkey BBQ Melts. That's on the substitution menu but John says he could have that every other day. She also lost over 2 pounds in the first week. She was a little disappointed in that until I reminded her that she had a chocolate TCBY in a waffle cone after getting a Quizno's sammie. Not exactly a healthy option but it had been a decade since she had it. I also reminded her that she's been eating until she was stuffed at every meal and having enough leftover for snacks between meals. Easiest 2 pounds ever.

I stayed exactly level this week. That's just weird. Our scale does .2 intervals. So it's a little strange that after a week, it's exactly the same. I'm not upset at the lack of weightloss. After all, I, too, had TCBY. But my indulgence was dinner with my closest friend who comes into town once a year. So I was happy to maintain the status quo. Go quo!

  1. I'd take a level reading over a gain ANY day. :) Keep up the good work, Donna, and best of luck on the move. I can't imagine moving with 3 kiddos but I know if anyone can do it, it's you!
